Amy Winehouse's Ex-Husband Slams Hologram Tour

Back to Black's Biopic Focuses on Tumultuous Marriage

Winehouse's Relationships Culminated in Short Marriage to Fielder-Civil

Amy Winehouse's former husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has publicly criticized the upcoming hologram tour featuring the late singer, calling it "a disrespectful cash grab." The tour, which is scheduled to begin in December 2023, will use holographic technology to create the illusion of Winehouse performing live onstage.

Fielder-Civil, who was married to Winehouse from 2007 to 2009, said in an interview with British tabloid The Sun that he believes the tour exploits Winehouse's legacy and profits from her tragic death. "It's all about money," he said. "They're just trying to make a quick buck off of Amy's name."

Fielder-Civil also accused the tour organizers of not consulting with Winehouse's family and friends before announcing it. "They never even spoke to me about it," he said. "I'm her ex-husband, and I think I should have at least been given a heads-up."

Winehouse's father, Mitch, has also expressed reservations about the hologram tour. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he said that he is concerned about the "ethical implications" of using technology to create a virtual version of his daughter.

"I don't think it's right to exploit Amy's image in this way," he said. "She was a real person with real emotions, and I don't think it's fair to reduce her to a hologram."

Despite the criticism from Winehouse's family and friends, the hologram tour is still set to go ahead as planned. The organizers have defended the project, saying that it is a way to celebrate Winehouse's music and legacy.

"We believe that this tour will be a unique and special experience for fans of Amy's music," said a spokesperson for the tour. "We are confident that it will be a respectful tribute to her talent and her legacy."
